BIDA Announces its Support for the 2019 Plastic Industry Awards

BIDA Chairman revealed as one of the Expert Judging Panel for the 2019 Plastic Industry Awards.

BIDA is proud to announce its support for this years Plastic Industry Awards, an annual event dedicated to recognising and rewarding excellence in design whilst acknowledging the best companies and people in the industry.

The awards, comprising of 15 categories covering product design, innovation, recycling, manufacturing, training and environmental performance are judged by a panel of industry experts.  

This year, Steve May-Russell,  BIDA’s National Chairman has been invited to be one of the industry experts involved with judging.   In his capacity as CEO of Smallfry, Steve has decades of experience within the Industrial Design Industry and has won multiple awards at the Plastic Industry Awards.   In 2018 their design Quanta Dialysis Technologies SC+ won Industrial Product Design of the Year.

 BIDA asked Steve to reveal the secret behind Smallfry’s process and give advice to potential candidates:

“As a collective, we champion the transformative power of Industrial Design aligned with a business mindset, taking our customers ‘on the journey’ with us - we cannot do it alone.

My passion lies in introducing seasoned professionals to a new, eye-opening, way of thinking - helping people grow an idea into a thriving business.  I endeavour to ask vital, difficult questions bringing a fresh approach to our clients.  However, most importantly, I love design; we never know what the solution is to a problem until we begin.”

The deadline for entry is 31st May 2019.  The list of categories are as follows:
